William joined Duncan Wealth Management in 2024 as a consultant.  He studied Mathematics and Physics, and earned a B.S. in mathematics from Truman State University.  He then went on to receive a grant from the National Science Foundation to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics at Oklahoma State University.  After receiving his master’s degree he was summoned to military service and joined the Navy.

William taught mathematics at the Naval Academy Prep school, but then sought more adventure.  He was then assigned as the anti-submarine officer aboard a destroyer for the remainder of his career in the Navy.  William then joined the Coast Guard, where he was the commanding office of “Captain of the Port” in Honolulu, Hawaii.  While in the Coast Guard, Bill then went to law school at Georgetown University where he graduated with honors.

One of his tours of duty was a three year assignment to the San Francisco office of DOJ, which is responsible for litigating all maritime cases west of the Mississippi river.  During that time he litigated a variety of cases including but not limited to, vessel sinking, personal injury, and wrongful death actions. After serving twenty years of active duty, he practiced maritime law as well as some criminal defense. One of his clients is listed on the NYSE and he litigated their cases in the United States for a period of twenty-one years, as well as locating and supervising counsel in foreign countries. He has personally litigated cases in New Jersey, Florida, Texas, California, and Washington. He has also argued cases in several Court of Appeals in California, both state and federal, as well as having cases in the DC Court of Appeal. One of his most notable cases changed maritime law and was the subject of an article in the Wall Street Journal.

William lives in Arizona with his wife Valerie.  He enjoys playing golf and hiking, and is very active in his church community.
